Boulder City, NV

Cascata is a Rees Jones design that opened in 2000 in Boulder City, about 30 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip. The par 72 course is built into the foothills of the River Mountain Range, with dramatic elevation changes, rugged desert terrain, lush fairways, streams and views toward the surrounding mountains. Jones describes Cascata as a "desert links," with the natural rock formations and undulating terrain shaping the routing. The name Cascata means "waterfall" in Italian, and water is one of the course's most unusual features. A 418-foot man-made waterfall runs through the property, with water eventually flowing through the 37,000-square-foot Tuscan-style clubhouse. The course was routed through existing canyons and ancient dry stream beds, and Jones has said the natural terrain was a major part of what made the site so special. The golf itself is defined by dramatic elevation changes, fast greens and elevated tees. The par 3 seventh is one of the standout holes, playing into a large green surrounded by a stream and tucked into a canyon. Cascata also requires a forecaddie, who is included with the golf experience.

Peoria, AZ

Quintero Golf Club sits in the Hieroglyphic Mountains northwest of Phoenix, reached off Carefree Highway (Route 74) in Peoria, Arizona. Rees Jones, with co-designer Steve Weisser, designed the course, which opened in 2000 as the golf centerpiece of a private residential community and later opened to daily-fee public play. The routing winds through desert valleys and washes separating the surrounding mountains, with elevation changes built into several holes and a mix of exposed desert and turfed corridors typical of high Sonoran Desert golf. It plays 7,249 yards at par 72 from the back tees. In 2025 Rees Jones Inc. returned to the property to restore the original green surfaces and rebuild the fairway and greenside bunkers. It is a long drive from central Phoenix, which keeps the course quiet, and it remains open to any golfer who books a tee time.

La Jolla, CA

The South Course at Torrey Pines is a municipal course owned by the city of San Diego, sitting on cliffs above the Pacific in La Jolla. William F. Bell designed the original 18, which opened in 1957, and Rees Jones rebuilt and lengthened it in 2001 to prepare it for championship golf. The course runs along the bluff edge with canyons cutting inland, and the par-3 third and the par-5 18th, which plays to a green fronted by water, are the best-known holes. Coastal wind and thick kikuyu grass rough are the main difficulties, and the course stretches past 7,600 yards from the back tees, though everyday golfers play it considerably shorter. Torrey Pines South hosts the Farmers Insurance Open each January, and held the U.S. Open in 2008, won by Tiger Woods in a playoff, and again in 2021, won by Jon Rahm. San Diego residents pay a reduced rate, and anyone can book a tee time.

St. Simons Island, GA

The Plantation Course at Sea Island on St. Simons Island, Georgia, traces back to a 1920s Walter Travis layout on the old Retreat Plantation property. Rees Jones rebuilt the course in the late 1990s, and Love Golf Design carried out a further renovation in 2019. The golf is coastal lowcountry: marsh, tidal creek and live oak, with the wind off St. Simons Sound shaping how holes play through the day. Fairways are broad, the greens are Bermuda and quick, and marsh carries replace conventional hazards on several holes. It is the quieter of the two courses at the Sea Island Golf Club property and is open to resort guests and members.

Atlanta, GA

Bobby Jones Golf Course is Atlanta's most historic public golf facility. Rees Jones reimagined it in 2018 as a reversible nine-hole course in Buckhead's Memorial Park. Named for Atlanta's legendary amateur champion, the course has nine double-greens, allowing play in two directions. This creates 18 distinct hole experiences when played as a full round. The layout can stretch over 7,400 yards from the back tees. It includes practice facilities, weekly camps, and a restaurant with Atlanta skyline views.

Biwabik, MN

The Quarry at Giants Ridge is located in Biwabik, Minnesota, on the Iron Range, built across a former sand quarry and iron ore mine that gives the course an unusually rugged, man-made topography compared to typical northern Minnesota forest courses. Architect Jeff Brauer designed the layout, opened in 2003 as the second course at Giants Ridge after The Legend. Raised tees, forced carries, trench bunkers and large waste areas are common, with holes such as the split-fairway par-5 second and the drivable par-4 13th standing out. Each hole references one of the area's historic mines. The Falls Course at Grand Falls Casino & Golf Resort in Larchwood is an 18-hole resort course designed by Rees Jones, with Bryce Swanson as co-designer, opening in 2015. The Currituck Club is a golf course in Corolla, North Carolina, on the northern Outer Banks near the Currituck Sound. Serket Golf Club, formerly known as Rio Secco Golf Club, is a public 18-hole course in the Seven Hills area of Henderson, Nevada. Rees Jones designed the course, which opened in 1997 for the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino and was rebranded as Serket in 2025 under new operator Cabot. The par-72 layout measures 6,927 yards with a course rating of 73.7 and a slope of 138, and it moves through steep canyons, a plateau overlooking the Las Vegas Strip, and a broad desert mountain range.

Browns Summit, NC

The Champions Course at Bryan Park Golf & Conference Center in Browns Summit, north of Greensboro, is an 18-hole, par-72 course designed by Rees Jones that opened in 1990. From the back tees it plays 7,255 yards with a course rating of 75.8 and a slope of 142, and shorter tees bring it down to about 5,252 yards. Seven holes border Lake Townsend, and the layout includes 97 sand bunkers along with grass bunkers, hollows and forced carries over water. The course is open to public play as part of Bryan Park's 36-hole complex.

Palm Beach, FL

The Rees Jones Course at The Breakers Palm Beach was originally built in 1968 in the Breakers West community, about 10 miles from the main resort. Rees Jones redesigned the course in 2005 and again in 2022, when it was fully regrassed with TifEagle greens and Celebration Bermuda fairways. The par-72 layout plays 7,104 yards from the Black tees, with a 74.5 rating and 143 slope. Gentle contours and modest elevation changes shape the terrain, and green tees were added for shorter play. It operates as part of The Breakers' golf offerings.

Gibsonia, PA

Totteridge Golf Club is a public, 18-hole course in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania, designed by Rees Jones with Steve Weisser and opened in 2001, Jones's first project in western Pennsylvania. The links-style layout plays to a par of 72 and 7,154 yards from the back tees, with a course rating of 75.8 and a slope of 139. Elevated tee boxes, natural fairway mounding, and selective bunkering run across 200 acres of rolling hills. The course transitioned from private to public daily-fee play in 2009 and is now operated under new ownership as of 2015.

Southern Pines, NC

Talamore is a Rees Jones design in Southern Pines, built on sandy Sandhills ground about eight miles from the Pinehurst campus. It opened in 1991 along the Midland Road corridor, in the wave of resort-era courses that filled the area at the time. The layout runs through rolling pine-lined corridors on the region's native sand base, with the bunkering and green contouring characteristic of Jones's work. A remastering project has since reworked the greens and playing corridors. Its position among neighbouring Sandhills layouts makes it a natural pairing on a multi-course stay.

The Member Course at The Golf Club of Houston is a Peter Jacobsen and Jim Hardy co-design. It was originally a George Fazio design from 1964, then redesigned in 2002 as part of Redstone Golf Club. The course hosted the Shell Houston Open in 2003, 2004, and 2005. Escalante Golf acquired it in 2013 and renamed it The Golf Club of Houston. This par-72 course measures 7,508 yards. It features native wetland flora and fauna, strategic bunkering, and manicured fairways and greens. The 8th hole, a 475-yard par 4, is the signature hole and most demanding challenge. PGA TOUR professionals have praised the course's conditions and challenging layout.

Front Royal, VA

The Old Course at Shenandoah Valley Golf Club in Front Royal, Virginia, is part of a 27-hole, daily-fee public facility located about eight miles north of town at the foot of the Blue Ridge and Massanutten mountain ranges. The Players Course at Bryan Park Golf & Conference Center in Browns Summit, North Carolina, opened in 1974 as a design by George Cobb on land near Lake Townsend, north of Greensboro. Pinehurst No. 7 is an 18-hole, par-72 course at Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, North Carolina. Rees Jones designed the course, which opened in 1986 and was renovated in 2002. The layout plays 7,216 yards from the back tees and is routed over wetland terrain about a mile from the resort's main clubhouse. It has roughly 75 bunkers and 25 acres of wetlands in play, and 13 of the 18 greens sit on elevated sites. No. 7 has its own range, putting green and short-game area. Play is open to resort guests and outside visitors through Pinehurst Resort tee times.

Wintergreen, VA

Stoney Creek Golf Course is part of Wintergreen Resort in the Rockfish Valley of Nelson County, Virginia, set beneath the Blue Ridge Mountains a short drive from the resort's mountaintop ski area. Designed by Rees Jones, with an original 18 holes opening in 1988 and a third nine added in 1998, the course consists of three nine-hole sections named Monocan, Shamokin, and Tuckahoe. Jones routed the holes to follow mountain streams and natural elevation change, incorporating meandering water, hardwood forest, and wetlands into play. Because many holes run uphill or downhill, yardages can play longer or shorter than the scorecard suggests, and forward tees are often recommended for a first round. Stoney Creek operates as a public course open to all, distinct from Wintergreen's private, members-only Devils Knob course on the mountain. It is playable much of the year given Virginia's milder valley climate.

Monticello, NY

Monster Golf Club sits at Resorts World Catskills in Monticello, New York, in the Catskill Mountains along Kiamesha Creek. The course opened in 1963, designed by Joe Finger, and was reworked in 2023 in a complete redesign led by Rees Jones that combined holes from the original layout with the adjoining Old International Course and updated the greens, bunkering and irrigation. The par-72 layout plays to 7,327 yards from its back tees and offers six sets of tee boxes, with water hazards affecting seven holes and large, undulating greens throughout. Burnt Pine Golf Club is located within the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Destin, Florida, on the northwest Gulf coast. The Keep is the second 18 at McLemore in Rising Fawn, Georgia, on the western brow of Lookout Mountain. Bill Bergin and Rees Jones designed it, and it opened for play in 2024 alongside the resort's original layout. The routing works along and back from the edge of the mountain, so several holes play toward long views out over McLemore Cove. Wide short-grass corridors, exposed brow-edge holes and a par 3 played from the rim give the course its character, and wind off the valley is a regular factor. The Keep is open to resort and public play, booked through McLemore.

The Golf Club at Ballantyne Resort is an 18-hole, par-71 course in south Charlotte, North Carolina, designed by Rees Jones in the mid-1990s and renovated in 2016 with new bunkers, tees, and greens. The course runs through the rolling hills of the Piedmont with tree-lined fairways and several water features. The Jones Course at Sea Trail Golf Resort in Sunset Beach is a Rees Jones design that opened in spring 1990. It plays par 72 at 6,717 yards from the back tees. The layout follows the typical Jones pattern of wide fairways framed by large mounds, with water in play on 11 holes and a mix of pot bunkers and big sand areas around the greens. It is one of three 18-hole courses at the resort, just over the state line from the Myrtle Beach area, and shares the Jones Byrd Clubhouse with the Byrd Course. Williamsburg, VA

The Green Course at Golden Horseshoe Golf Club is part of Colonial Williamsburg's resort property in Williamsburg, Virginia, carved from about 250 acres of mature woodland with ridges and ravines running through the property. Rees Jones designed the course, which opened in 1991, drawing on the routing style his father Robert Trent Jones Sr. used on the resort's older Gold Course. The 18-hole layout plays to a par of 72 and stretches to about 7,120 yards from the championship tees, with water coming into play on six holes and more than 100 bunkers throughout. Six sets of tees allow a range of playing abilities to use the course. The Green Course operates as part of the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club resort facility, open to resort guests and the public by tee time, alongside the Gold Course and a nine-hole par-3 course called The Shoe.

Alameda, CA

The North Course is the second 18 at Corica Park, Alameda's municipal complex on the bay side of the island, a short drive from Oakland. Golf has been played on this flat piece of reclaimed land since the 1920s, and the North Course was rebuilt as part of the complex's renovation and reopened in 2021. The rebuild raised and reshaped the ground, replaced the turf with fine fescue and added sand and short grass around the greens, so the course plays firm and along the ground rather than through the air. It is dead flat and completely walkable, and the bay wind is the main defense. Bunkering is used sparingly; most of the trouble is contour, angle and the run-off areas beside the greens. It is a city-owned course with public tee times and municipal pricing, which is the point: a fescue links you can walk in the middle of the East Bay. The sister South Course, redesigned by Rees Jones and reopened in 2018, shares the same clubhouse and practice ground.

Myrtle Beach, SC

Arcadian Shores Golf Club is a public course in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, close to area accommodations along the northern part of the Grand Strand. Opened in 1974, it was the first solo design by architect Rees Jones, who went on to redesign numerous U.S. Open venues. The course combines lakes woven through the fairways, tree-lined corridors of live oak, and elevated, well-bunkered greens. From the back tees it plays to roughly 6,857 yards at a par of 72, with five sets of tees offering options for different playing levels. It remains a regular stop for visiting and local golfers alike.

Woodside Plantation in Aiken, South Carolina, is a large residential community with multiple 18-hole golf courses across two clubs. Woodside Plantation Country Club operates The Plantation Course, a Robert E. Cupp design that opened in 2009 and plays to roughly 7,178 yards at par 72. The Reserve Club at Woodside adds further 18-hole courses, including the Reserve Course, a Nicklaus Design layout that opened in the early 2000s, and the Hollow Creek Course, designed by Clyde Johnston with Fuzzy Zoeller, which opened in 2007.

Florence, OR

Sandpines Golf Links is a public 18-hole course in Florence, on the central Oregon Coast, designed by architect Rees Jones. The par-72 layout measures roughly 6,900 to 7,200 yards depending on the tee markers and is bordered on its ocean side by the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. The front nine winds through a forest of coastal pines and small lakes with a character the club compares to courses on the Monterey Peninsula, while the back nine opens into a more traditional links landscape shaped by wind-sculpted sand dunes. Bentgrass is used throughout the course. Sandpines is about a quarter mile west of Highway 101 and is roughly an eighty-minute drive from Bandon Dunes to the south. The facility includes a golf shop, practice areas and a bar and grill, and tee times can be booked online or by phone year-round.

New Orleans, LA

Bayou Oaks at City Park is a public golf complex in New Orleans' historic City Park, where golf has been played since 1902. Hurricane Katrina forced a complete closure in 2005, and the South Course reopened in 2017 following a redesign by Rees Jones and Greg Muirhead of Rees Jones, Inc., in association with Torre Design Consortium. The 18-hole, par-72 South Course plays to 7,297 yards from the back tees with 46 bunkers and multiple water hazards. The North Course, the only original layout to survive Katrina, reopened in 2008. The facility is owned by New Orleans City Park and operated by the Bayou District Foundation.

Kissimmee, FL

Falcon's Fire Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 public golf course in Kissimmee, Florida. It was designed by Rees Jones, with Greg Muirhead, and opened in 1993, stretching to about 7,000 yards from the back tees. Located near Walt Disney World and Orlando International Airport, the Kissimmee course is generally wide open off the tee but demands accuracy into well-bunkered greens, with water hazards coming into play on several holes. Falcon's Fire has hosted the Senior PGA Tour Regional Finals and the Oldsmobile Scramble National Finals in past years.

West Chester, PA

Broad Run Golfer's Club sits on 372 acres in West Bradford Township near West Chester, Pennsylvania, amid the region's rural countryside. The course was designed by Rees Jones and opened in 2000, taking advantage of dramatic elevation changes across the property. Layout features include three ponds, Broad Run Creek, 54 bunkers, natural wetlands, and bentgrass tees, fairways, and greens. Broad Run is open to the public and also offers annual memberships. The facility includes a full practice area with driving range, group and individual instruction, and a clubhouse used for private events; carts are included with all rounds since walking is not permitted on the hilly terrain.

New Bern, NC

The Emerald Golf Club in New Bern is a Rees Jones design that opened in 1988. The par-72 course stretches 6,924 yards with sculpted bunkers, water and five tees on each hole, and it has hosted PGA Tour Qualifying School stages. It takes public play and also has tennis and a pool.

Harbour Pointe Golf Club sits inside the Fairfield Harbour community in New Bern. The par-72 course opened in 1985 and measures 6,577 yards, running through coastal marsh near the Neuse River. It has a grass range, a short game area and the Pointe Restaurant, which is open to the public.

Graysburg Hills Golf Course is a 27 hole public facility in Chuckey, Tennessee. The Knobs and Fodderstack nines were designed by Rees Jones and opened in 1978, while the Chimney Top nine was designed by Edward Lawrence Packard and added in 1994. The Graysburg Hills property is situated in the foothills of eastern Tennessee and features bent grass greens with bermuda grass fairways. Golfers encounter 100 sand bunkers and six water hazards across the three distinct nine hole layouts. The course is known for its grooming standards and a continuous cart path system that connects all 27 holes.

Sioux Center, IA

The Ridge Golf Club is an 18-hole public facility in Sioux Center that was designed by Jerry Slack and opened in 2009. Course No. 2 at Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Illinois, was originally designed by Tom Bendelow and opened in 1927, one of three courses built by the club after its 1924 founding by the Medinah Shriners. Rees Jones led a restoration of the course in 2016 and 2017 that returned its aesthetic character while rebuilding greens, tees, bunkers, and drainage. The par-72 layout plays 6,412 yards from the back tees, with multiple tee options suited to golfers of varying skill levels. Medinah's grounds also include Course No. 1 and the championship Course No. 3, along with a Byzantine-style clubhouse. Medinah is a private club; play is limited to members and their guests.
