Cog Hill Golf & Country Club - Dubsdread
Lemont, IL
About this course
Dubsdread is the championship course at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club in Lemont, Illinois. Dick Wilson and Joe Lee designed it, and it opened in 1964 as Cog Hill's No. 4 course. Rees Jones carried out a major renovation in 2008.
It is the longest and hardest of the four courses on the property, running to about 7,554 yards with deep, steep-faced bunkering, tree-lined corridors and firmly contoured greens. The name has stuck because the course asks for full shots from the first hole to the last.
Dubsdread hosted the Western Open and later the BMW Championship on the PGA Tour, along with a 1997 U.S. Amateur. It remains fully open to public play.

Cog Hill Golf & Country Club (No. 3)
Lemont, IL · 2.3 mi away
Course No. 3 opened in 1963 as the third of four 18-hole courses at Cog Hill in Lemont. David McIntosh laid it out through rolling, wooded ground, and the operator lists water in play on seven holes. It plays to par 72 at roughly 6,400 yards, shorter than No. 2 and well short of Dubsdread next door. Like the rest of the complex it is daily-fee, run by Jemsek Golf, with tee times up to 14 days out.
Ruffled Feathers Golf Club
Lemont, IL · 2.8 mi away
Ruffled Feathers Golf Club is located in Lemont, Illinois, a southwest suburb of Chicago, on land assembled from several former farm plots. The course sits within a residential development in the same corridor as other area golf courses. Designed by Pete Dye and his son P.B. Dye, the course opened in 1992. It was originally conceived as a private club with a high-end membership fee, but a recession-era shift led it to operate as a public daily-fee course instead. The layout is known for dramatic Dye-style bunkering, water features, and a peninsula green at the par-3 11th. The course is open to the public and includes a full practice facility. It plays to a par of 72, with a longest yardage of roughly 6,898 yards, and remains the only Pete Dye design in the Chicago area.
Cog Hill Golf & Country Club (No. 2)
Lemont, IL · 2.9 mi away
Course No. 2, known as the Ravines, is one of four 18-hole courses at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club in Lemont, Illinois. It opened in 1929, originally designed by David McIntosh and Bert Coghill, with a 1995 update by Joe Lee and Rocky Roquemore. The course is routed through wooded, rolling terrain, with ravines cutting through nearly half the holes, which gives the course its nickname. It plays 6,889 yards from the back tees to a par of 72 and finishes with an unusual par-3 19th hole used as a tiebreaker or bonus hole. Cog Hill is a public daily-fee facility with online and phone tee time booking, and the Ravines course is priced separately from the resort's marquee Dubsdread course.
