4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

4.1 Service Providers

We share information with third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf, including Lovable (application hosting, database, and AI infrastructure), Stripe (payment processing), Google Maps Platform (mapping and drive-time estimates), Resend (transactional email), and analytics providers. These vendors are contractually bound to protect your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and use it only for the services they provide.

4.2 User Content

User Content is publicly visible on the Service, unless you request anonymization as provided in Section 4.4 of the Terms of Service. Your User Content may be used to train the Service's proprietary Looper feature in order to make better course recommendations to our users or to provide other benefits to other users of the Service.

4.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

4.4 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity, subject to the same privacy protections described in this policy.

5. Data Retention

We retain your Account Information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and comply with applicable law. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your Account Information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for a legitimate business purpose (such as fraud prevention or dispute resolution) or to comply with applicable law. User Content may be retained in anonymized form after account deletion.

Information collected automatically about your use of the Service will be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), hashed authentication tokens, and access controls limiting who can access personal data. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and encourage you to use a strong, unique password and protect your account credentials.

7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use the following types of cookies:

  • Essential cookies: Required for the Service to function, including session authentication cookies. These cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality.
  • Preference cookies: We store a small cookie named sidebar_state to remember whether you have expanded or collapsed the navigation sidebar. This cookie expires after 7 days and contains no personal information.
  • Analytics cookies: We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate usage patterns. These cookies do not track you across other websites.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking technologies.

Browser local storage: When you are logged in, your basic account information (name, user ID) is temporarily stored in your browser's local storage to support fast page rendering. This data is cleared when you log out and is never transmitted to third parties.

8. AI-Generated Content (Looper) and Automated Content Screening

Looper is an AI assistant powered by large language model technology. Queries you submit to Looper are processed by our AI infrastructure. Please do not submit sensitive personal information (such as financial details, medical information, or government ID numbers) to Looper. AI-generated responses are provided for informational and planning purposes only and should not be relied upon as professional advice. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of Looper's responses.

Reviews and other User Content you submit are sent to the same AI infrastructure for automated screening before publication. The screening returns a classification, a risk score, category labels, and a short reason, which we store with your submission so our staff can see why an item was held. Content that is not cleared is reviewed by a person before it is published; no publication decision is made by automated means alone, and you may contact us at privacy@bogeymap.com if you believe a decision about your content was made in error. Please do not include personal information about yourself or others in a review beyond what you intend to publish.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately at privacy@bogeymap.com and we will promptly delete it.

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions.
  • Portability: Request your personal information in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Objection: Object to our processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

For significant changes, we may also provide notice via email (if you have an account) or a prominent notice on the Service.
