About this course
The Monster golf course sits in Kiamesha Lake, New York, on the grounds of the former Concord Resort, once one of the largest resorts in the United States. The original course opened in 1963, designed by Joe Finger with input from Jimmy Demaret and Jackie Burke Jr., and became known for its extreme length, hosting an LPGA major in the 1960s.
After the Concord's decline, the course sat dormant for years until Resorts World Catskills, built on the former Concord site, reopened a reworked 18-hole layout in 2023, redesigned by Rees Jones and Bryce Swanson using land from the old front and back nines. The par-72 course now measures 7,327 yards from its longest tees, with large undulating greens and water hazards on several holes.
The course operates as a public facility tied to the Resorts World Catskills casino resort, with a modern clubhouse, pro shop, and instruction available.

Monticello, NY · 2.6 mi away
Monster Golf Club sits at Resorts World Catskills in Monticello, New York, in the Catskill Mountains along Kiamesha Creek. The course opened in 1963, designed by Joe Finger, and was reworked in 2023 in a complete redesign led by Rees Jones that combined holes from the original layout with the adjoining Old International Course and updated the greens, bunkering and irrigation. The par-72 layout plays to 7,327 yards from its back tees and offers six sets of tee boxes, with water hazards affecting seven holes and large, undulating greens throughout. The course is managed by Troon Golf and is open to hotel guests, Genting Rewards members and the general public with a paid tee time; a pro shop and practice facilities operate on site.
Sullivan County Golf & Country Club
Liberty, NY · 9.6 mi away
Sullivan County Golf Club is a nine-hole course in Liberty, in the Catskills, designed by Maurice McCarthy and Len Rayner and opened in 1925. In 2024, ahead of its 100th anniversary, the club was renovated with a new routing by Craig & Coyne Design, adding two par 3s and a par 5 along with new irrigation and cart paths. Golf writer Tom Coyne later bought the club to keep it running. In 1931 a transatlantic flight attempt took off from what was then the 8th fairway, now the driving range.
Inness
Accord, NY · 23 mi away
Inness is a nine-hole golf course at a small resort in Accord, in New York's Hudson Valley. Designed by Rob Collins and Tad King and completed in 2018, it is the pair's first project after Sweetens Cove in Tennessee and has been nicknamed 'Sweetens' Back Nine' for its unconventional style. The holes are wide and shared between fairways, with multiple flag positions on each green, encouraging golfers to play the same hole from different angles on repeated loops. The design favors a relaxed round over a traditional championship test, with emphasis on short-game creativity around firm, undulating greens. Inness operates as part of a resort with lodging, dining, and a members club, welcoming overnight guests and daily-fee golfers. Walking is encouraged, dress code is casual, and keeping score is optional, reflecting the informal approach the architects intended.
