Ivins, UT

Black Desert Golf Course in Ivins, Utah, opened in 2023 and was the final design of Tom Weiskopf, completed after his death by his longtime design partner Phil Smith. The course is routed through a black lava flow at the edge of Snow Canyon, and the contrast between the dark rock, the green turf and the red sandstone cliffs behind it is the defining visual of the place. Rather than clear the lava, the design works around it. Fairways thread between rock fields, several tee shots carry over them, and a ball in the lava is unplayable. The greens are large with soft internal movement, and the elevation change across the property is significant. Black Desert hosted a PGA Tour event in October 2024 and an LPGA Tour event in 2025, and it is open to the public alongside the resort at the site.

Thanksgiving Point Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 public course in Lehi, Utah, managed by Troon Golf. Designed by Johnny Miller with Fred Bliss and opened in 1997, it plays up to 7,714 yards from the tournament tees along the Jordan River amid Ashton Gardens. The course has hosted the Web.com Tour's Utah Championship, the Utah State Amateur Championship, and the Champions Challenge exhibition featuring Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player.

Washington, UT

Coral Canyon Golf Course sits on rolling benchland above the town of Washington, Utah, near St. George, with views toward Zion National Park and the red-rock country of the region. Keith Foster designed the course, which opened in 2000 across roughly 80 acres of turf cut into the high-desert terrain. Foster's routing follows the natural contours of the land rather than reshaping it heavily, using elevation change and green complexes to create difficulty instead of relying on length alone. Dozens of bunkers and two lakes are placed to affect strategy rather than simply for appearance. The par-3 sixth, ringed by bunkers and water, is the hole most remember. The course is open to the public and plays to a par of 72 from four sets of tees, with the back tees stretching past 7,000 yards. A soft-spike, collared-shirt dress code applies, and the facility has hosted regional tournaments.

St. George, UT

Built in 2006, the Ledges Golf Club is a 7,200-yard par 72 golf course designed by Matt Dye, nephew of legendary course designer Pete Dye. The Ledges was an early crown jewel of Southern Utah’s golf resorts, with a private club feel despite being open to public play. Riverton, UT

Riverbend Golf Course follows the Jordan River through Riverton in Salt Lake County, Utah, at the south end of the Salt Lake Valley. Elevated tees and overlooks give golfers views across surrounding wetlands and riparian habitat along the riverbank. The front nine is largely flat with several water hazards and bunkers, while the back nine dips toward the Jordan River through trees, including numerous Russian olives, and passes near wetlands that draw local wildlife such as deer and foxes. Riverbend is a public course owned and operated by Salt Lake County, with a full practice area, pro shop and restaurant on site.
