About this course
Sand Hollow Resort's Championship Course opened in 2008 in Hurricane, Utah, designed by John Fought with Andy Staples. It sits on a sandstone plateau above Sand Hollow Reservoir on the edge of the Hurricane Cliffs, with Zion National Park visible in the distance.
The front nine plays across a relatively flat, high desert plateau with broad fairways and well-placed bunkers. The back nine climbs a ridgeline and runs along the edge of a red rock canyon, with several holes playing right to the rim. The greens are large and open in front, so wind and angle do more of the defensive work than length.
The Championship Course is open to the public and to resort guests, and it shares the property with a separate nine-hole Links Course for a shorter round.
