About this course
The Red Course is one of five courses at Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale, New York, designed by A.W. Tillinghast and opened in 1935, a year before the Black Course. Its opening and closing holes run through trees before the routing opens into a broad plain of fescue and bunkers around the eighth hole, echoing the rugged bunkering the Black Course is known for, with somewhat more width off the tee. From the back tees it plays 7,092 yards to a par of 70, with a course rating of 74.4 and a slope of 133. The Red Course is owned and operated by New York State and is open to public play, with tee times booked through the state park's golf office.

A semi-private, links-style course on Long Island's south shore in Oceanside, with views across the water toward Jones Beach and the barrier islands. Alfred Tull designed the course, which opened in 1955 as the private Middle Bay Country Club, and Kipp Schulties led later renovation work. The par-72 layout plays to 6,819 yards, and wind off the bay is a factor on nearly every hole. The club nearly closed for good after Hurricane Sandy but reopened under new operation.
