Brackenridge Park Golf Course
San Antonio, TX
Brackenridge Park Golf Course is the oldest 18-hole public golf course in Texas and one of the most historically significant municipal courses in the country. Designed by A.W. Tillinghast and opened in 1916, Old Brack served as the original home of the Texas Open — the sixth-oldest professional tournament in golf — hosting legends including Byron Nelson, Sam Snead, and Ben Hogan. A meticulous 2008 restoration returned the course to Tillinghast original routing, weaving through the mature live oaks and cypress trees of Brackenridge Park just north of downtown San Antonio. The course also serves as home to the Texas Golf Hall of Fame, with the clubhouse featuring the Walk of Fame and the Texas Tournament Trophy Room. At par 71 and 6,243 yards from the tips, it offers a charming, accessible city-park layout that rewards shot-making over power.
