About this course

Capital City Country Club is located in Tallahassee, Florida, on rolling ground shaded by large moss-draped oaks. The club's origins trace to 1913, when George B. Perkins organized a nine-hole course laid out by professional Herbert H. Barker, which opened in 1914.

The course was expanded to eighteen holes in the 1930s with the help of a federal Works Progress Administration grant, and architect A.W. Tillinghast reviewed and influenced the redesign during that expansion. The City of Tallahassee owned and operated the course for decades before leasing it back to the newly chartered Capital City Country Club in 1956.

The club today operates as a semi-private facility and is recognized on the Florida Historic Golf Trail, playing to a par of 72 at roughly 6,502 yards.

Southwood Golf Club is an 18-hole course in Tallahassee, Florida, built by the St. Joe Company and opened in 2002. It was designed by PGA Tour player Fred Couples along with architect Gene Bates, and was named one of the top new courses in America by Golf Magazine and Golf Digest around its opening. The par-72 layout stretches to more than 7,100 yards from the back tees and winds through rolling hills, pastureland, and stands of old oak trees draped in Spanish moss. After a period of decline, a group of local investors purchased the course in 2018 for about one million dollars and began renovating the clubhouse and grounds. The course offers five sets of tees for a range of playing abilities and operates a full pro shop. Southwood functions as an upscale daily-fee facility that also supports club memberships.

St. James Bay Golf Course is an 18-hole course in Carrabelle, Florida, part of the St. James Bay Golf and Pickleball Resort on the state's Forgotten Coast. Designed by Robert Walker, the par-72 layout stretches to about 7,000 yards from the back tees and is built across 90 acres of wetlands and pine within a 234-acre property. It is recognized as an Audubon Signature Sanctuary course, one of the only ones on the Florida Panhandle, and wildlife such as gopher tortoises, deer, and alligators are common sights. Rolling fairways, strategic bunkering and water features run through the layout, with risk-reward options on several holes, including par 5s that reward longer hitters. Amenities include a driving range, putting green, chipping area, pro shop, and on-site dining. The resort also offers lodging and stay-and-play packages.
