About this course
Spook Rock Golf Course is a public, town-owned course in Suffern, New York, part of the Town of Ramapo park system in Rockland County. The property was previously the site of the first Boy Scout camp in the United States, and its name comes from local Native American lore tied to nearby Spook Rock Road.
The course was designed and built by architect Frank Duane, with the front nine opening in 1969 and the full 18 holes completed the following year; a later redesign of some holes was carried out by Steven Kay.
Spook Rock operates as a public course with a driving range and standard practice facilities, and is managed through Troon's golf operations for the town.
