Spook Rock Golf Course

Suffern, NY

Spook Rock Golf Course is a public, town-owned course in Suffern, New York, part of the Town of Ramapo park system in Rockland County. The property was previously the site of the first Boy Scout camp in the United States, and its name comes from local Native American lore tied to nearby Spook Rock Road. The course was designed and built by architect Frank Duane, with the front nine opening in 1969 and the full 18 holes completed the following year; a later redesign of some holes was carried out by Steven Kay. Spook Rock operates as a public course with a driving range and standard practice facilities, and is managed through Troon's golf operations for the town.

Sycamore Country Club

Ravena, NY

Sycamore Country Club is an 18-hole public golf course in Ravena, New York, less than half an hour outside Albany. The club has operated since the early 1970s and underwent renovations to its course and clubhouse under newer ownership. The front nine is relatively flat with a mix of par-3s and par-4s and a creek running through the middle, while the back nine is hillier and more exposed to wind, giving the two halves distinct characters. The clubhouse is a converted barn more than 200 years old, with a bar, grill, and an outdoor dining deck overlooking the front nine. Sycamore operates as a public course open for daily play, along with banquet and event space for private functions.
