About this course

The Jimmie Austin Golf Club at the University of Oklahoma is located in Norman, Oklahoma, on land that once served as a U.S. Navy training annex, with Bishop Creek and the South Canadian River shaping rolling terrain dotted with native grasses and bur oaks.

Perry Maxwell designed the original course, which opened for play in January 1951 shortly before his death. Robert Cupp led a major redesign in 1996, and Tripp Davis, an OU alumnus, completed further renovations in 2017 that relocated tees and greens, shifted fairways and rebuilt bunkers while aiming to preserve Maxwell's original character.

The course serves as home to the Oklahoma Sooners golf teams and operates as a public daily-fee facility, having hosted NCAA Regional and U.S. Amateur Public Links championships.

Oklahoma City, OK · 13 mi away

Earlywine Golf Club's South Course is one of two 18-hole layouts at a city-owned facility in south Oklahoma City, off South Portland Avenue. The South Course opened in 1976 as part of the Earlywine Regional Park development undertaken by the city parks department. It was designed by Floyd Farley and later saw a four-hole redesign by Mark Hayes. The layout is accented by several ponds and lakes, with water coming into play on a number of holes, a contrast to the more hilly, tree-lined North Course on the same property.
