About this course
The Kings' Course is part of the 27-hole Waikoloa Beach Resort golf complex on Hawaii's Big Island, set on the lava fields of the Kohala Coast with views toward Mauna Kea. It is combined with the resort's Beach and Lakes nines to form 18-hole rounds.
The Kings' nine was designed by Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish as a Scottish links-inspired layout, distinct from the older Robert Trent Jones Jr Beach and Lakes nines on the same property. Wide fairways, native grasses and pot bunkers set among black lava outcroppings give it a different character from the resort's ocean-hugging holes.
Waikoloa Beach Resort golf is a resort facility open to hotel guests and outside visitors alike. Multiple 9-hole combinations let golfers assemble different 18-hole rounds, and the facility includes a driving range and practice areas.

The North Course at Mauna Lani is an 18-hole, par-72 course on the Kohala Coast of Hawaii Island, designed by Homer Flint and opened in 1981. It plays 6,913 yards from the back tees to a rating of 74.4 and slope of 136. The routing runs through a kiawe forest and past a 230-acre protected archaeological area near the northern boundary. The par-3 17th, roughly 140 yards, plays from an elevated tee to a green set in a natural lava amphitheater. The course was built on lava with imported topsoil and is the companion to Mauna Lani's South Course.
