About this course
Valley of the Eagles Golf Club is the only Nicklaus Design daily-fee course in Northern Ohio, opened in August 2018 on the grounds of the old Spring Valley Golf Club in Elyria. The par 72 layout stretches to 7,015 yards from the tips and plays through the Black River Valley, where sheer black shale cliffs rise a hundred feet over the river and mature elm, oak and ash line the fairways. Island tees and island greens show up throughout the routing, and the elevation changes are rare for this part of the state. The course sits at the intersection of I-90, the Ohio Turnpike and Route 57, about 25 miles west of downtown Cleveland, which makes it one of the easiest marquee rounds in the region to reach. A full clubhouse with the Black River Tavern rounds out the property.
