About this course
The Legacy 18 at Sweetbriar Golf Club is a course of two halves in Avon Lake. The front nine, built in 2002, is a links-style layout with winding fairways and large greens. The back nine, added in 2007, cuts through wooded landscape with natural wetlands and risk-reward par fives, giving it a more traditional East Coast feel. Together they make a par 72 that plays 6,634 yards from the black tees, with trees, wetlands and bunkers testing every skill level. Sweetbriar also runs a second, shorter 18-hole course on the same property that dates to the 1960s, plus the Legacy Restaurant, which handles weddings, outings and everyday dining. Soft spikes and proper golf attire are required, and riding carts are mandatory on the Legacy.
