About this course

Big Met Golf Course is an 18-hole public course in the Rocky River Reservation of Cleveland Metroparks, with its clubhouse address in Fairview Park, Ohio near Rocky River. It opened in 1926 as Cleveland's first Metropolitan Park Board golf course and was originally designed by architect Stanley Thompson.

The course has undergone several changes over the decades, including a 2005 clubhouse rebuild, a 1998 irrigation and flood-control renovation, and earlier lengthening of a couple of holes in the 1960s. A dike holding back the Rocky River runs through parts of the property and is a defining visual feature.

Big Met is operated by Cleveland Metroparks on a pay-as-you-play public basis and is one of the most heavily played courses in Ohio, with gentle rolling terrain, moderate length, and modest bunkering.

Ridgewood Golf Course sits in Parma, Ohio, in the Cleveland metropolitan area, and has served as a public municipal course for roughly a century.
