The Golf Club at Wescott Plantation sits in the South Carolina Lowcountry in Summerville, a short drive from Charleston and its airport. The property is owned by the City of North Charleston and operated as a daily-fee facility with three separate nine-hole loops that can be combined into three different 18-hole rounds.
The course was designed by Dr. Michael Hurdzan of Hurdzan/Fry Golf Course Design and opened in November 2000. Tree-lined corridors give each hole a sense of separation from the others, and traditional low bunkering and open landing areas define the strategy of play. Any combination of the three nines, named Oak Forest, Burn Kill, and Black Robin, stretches past 7,100 yards from the back markers.
With at least five tee options per hole, ranging from roughly 5,100 to over 7,100 yards, the course is set up for a wide range of players. A clubhouse with a restaurant and event space sits at the center of the property, and the club regularly hosts outings and group events alongside daily public play.
