About this course

Crowfield Golf & Country Club occupies the site of the former Crowfield Plantation in Goose Creek, South Carolina, with plantation garden ruins visible near one of the greens. Bob Spence, working with Tom Jackson, designed the course, which opened around 1989 and is owned and operated by the City of Goose Creek. The layout has more elevation change and mounded fairways than is typical for the South Carolina lowcountry, running through hardwood-lined corridors with water affecting play on more than half the holes. From the back tees the course stretches to roughly 7,000 yards at a par of 72. Crowfield offers five sets of tees to accommodate a range of playing abilities and is open to public play.

The Golf Club At Wescott Plantation

Summerville, SC · 5.3 mi away

The Golf Club at Wescott Plantation sits in the South Carolina Lowcountry in Summerville, a short drive from Charleston and its airport. The property is owned by the City of North Charleston and operated as a daily-fee facility with three separate nine-hole loops that can be combined into three different 18-hole rounds. The course was designed by Dr. Michael Hurdzan of Hurdzan/Fry Golf Course Design and opened in November 2000. Tree-lined corridors give each hole a sense of separation from the others, and traditional low bunkering and open landing areas define the strategy of play. Any combination of the three nines, named Oak Forest, Burn Kill, and Black Robin, stretches past 7,100 yards from the back markers. With at least five tee options per hole, ranging from roughly 5,100 to over 7,100 yards, the course is set up for a wide range of players. A clubhouse with a restaurant and event space sits at the center of the property, and the club regularly hosts outings and group events alongside daily public play.

The Champion Bermuda greens were renovated in 2003, and the generous fairways keep it playable for all levels.
