About this course
The Classic is the original 18-hole course at Otsego Resort, about a mile east of downtown Gaylord off M-32. It was designed by William H. Diddel and is considered the founding course of the Gaylord golf scene. The layout is traditional parkland with tree-lined fairways, built for playability rather than length, and plays to a par of 72 at about 6,348 yards from the back tees. The ninth hole looks over the Sturgeon River Valley, and the short par-4 18th plays from one old ski slope to another. It is open to the public as part of Otsego's 36-hole operation.
