About this course

ShadowGlen Golf Club is located in Manor, Texas, about 15 minutes northeast of downtown Austin, within the ShadowGlen residential community.

The 18-hole course was designed by architects Roy Bechtol and Randy Russell and opened in the early 2000s. Its links-style routing moves over rolling hills with narrow fairways, contoured mounding, bunkering around the greens, and a creek crossing the property.

From the back tees the course plays to roughly 7,174 yards at a par of 72. The club closed briefly in 2011 during a water-supply dispute before reopening the following year and remains open to public play today.

Morris Williams Golf Course

Austin, TX · 9.4 mi away

Morris Williams Golf Course is an 18-hole, par-72 public golf course in Austin, Texas, designed by Leon Howard and opened in 1964 as the city's third public course. It is named for Morris Williams Jr., an Austin-raised golfer who won numerous Texas amateur and junior titles before his death in a Korean War jet crash. The course once served as home to the University of Texas golf team under coach George Hannon, during a period when the Longhorns won NCAA titles with players including Tom Kite and Ben Crenshaw. It underwent a renovation in 2012 that enlarged and reshaped its greens in Austin.

Hancock Golf Course

Austin, TX · 11 mi away

Hancock Golf Course was founded in 1899 by Lewis Hancock, a former mayor of Austin, and was the original home of the Austin Country Club. That makes it one of the oldest golf courses in Texas, and the course is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Today it is a nine-hole, par-35 municipal layout of about 2,600 yards in central Austin — walking only, with a simple pay station in place of a pro shop. The city renamed the course for Hancock in 1946. Harvey Penick, one of the most influential teachers in the history of the game, learned golf on this ground. More than 125 years after it opened, Hancock still gives Austin a public course from the game's earliest days in America.
