About this course

Royal New Kent Golf Club in Providence Forge, Virginia, opened in 1997 as one of Mike Strantz's early solo designs, modeled on the dune-like ground of Irish links such as Royal County Down and Ballybunion. The par-72 course stretches to 7,440 yards from the back tees, with a 76.8 course rating and 154 slope, across 282 acres of hilly, open Virginia countryside reshaped with mounding, hand-stacked rock walls and more than 100 bunkers. Strantz gave the routing wide landing areas but demanding, well-guarded approaches into large Bermuda greens. It is a public daily-fee course.
