Bee Cave, TX — Tam O'Shanter Golf Course in Canton, Ohio, featured two 18-hole layouts, the "Hills" and "Dales" courses, both designed by Leonard Macomber. A protégé of the legendary Donald Ross, Macomber's design philosophy often incorporated traditional elements, emphasizing strategic play and integrating the course with the natural topography. The courses were known for their undulating hills, providing a challenging yet picturesque setting for golfers. Tam O'Shanter held a significant place in Ohio's golf landscape, hosting various state events and attracting both amateur and professional players for decades. While specific signature holes for the Canton location are not widely publicized, the overall design reflected Macomber's expertise in creating engaging and fair tests of golf. Sadly, after a long and storied history, Tam O'Shanter Golf Course officially closed its doors in October 2018, marking the end of an era for this historic Stark County golf destination.
