About this course

Douglaston Golf Club sits on some of the highest ground in Queens, giving golfers views toward the Manhattan skyline. The course began in 1927 as North Hills Country Club, with the 18 holes laid out by father-and-son architects Willie Tucker Sr. and Jr. on rolling terrain. Its original clubhouse, built in a Spanish Mission style, is considered one of architect Clifford Wendehack's notable works. The private club eventually relocated, and the City of New York purchased the property in 1962 and 1963 and opened it as a public municipal course. A 2004 renovation by architect Stephen Kay updated the course and clubhouse, and the layout today plays to a par of 67 with a range of yardages depending on tee placement.
