Cottonwood Creek Golf Course

Waco, TX

Cottonwood Creek Golf Course is a city-owned course near downtown Waco, Texas, just off Interstate 35. Cottonwood Creek runs through the property, with cottonwood trees lining several fairways. The course was designed by Joseph Finger, with Pete Dye also credited on the project, and opened in 1985. Water is in play on more than half the holes, and the greens are generally elevated above the fairways. The 18-hole layout plays to a par of 72 and stretches to roughly 7,140 yards from the back tees. Notable holes include the dogleg 5th, which plays between two creeks, and the double-dogleg 15th, protected by water. A separate nine-hole par-3 course and full practice facilities are also on site, and the course is open to the public.

Concord Resort (Monster)

Kiamesha Lake, NY

The Monster golf course sits in Kiamesha Lake, New York, on the grounds of the former Concord Resort, once one of the largest resorts in the United States. The original course opened in 1963, designed by Joe Finger with input from Jimmy Demaret and Jackie Burke Jr., and became known for its extreme length, hosting an LPGA major in the 1960s. After the Concord's decline, the course sat dormant for years until Resorts World Catskills, built on the former Concord site, reopened a reworked 18-hole layout in 2023, redesigned by Rees Jones and Bryce Swanson using land from the old front and back nines. The par-72 course now measures 7,327 yards from its longest tees, with large undulating greens and water hazards on several holes. The course operates as a public facility tied to the Resorts World Catskills casino resort, with a modern clubhouse, pro shop, and instruction available.
