About this course

Atkins Golf Club sits in Urbana, Illinois, a few miles from the University of Illinois campus. Built in 1999 as Stone Creek Golf Club under the vision of Clint Atkins with architects Dick and Tim Nugent, the course became home to the university's men's and women's golf teams.

In 2020, the Atkins family donated the course and surrounding acreage to the University of Illinois, and the property was renamed Atkins Golf Club. Architect Drew Rogers subsequently led a renovation that rebuilt the greens and bunkers and lengthened the course, creating a championship-caliber par-71 layout that can stretch beyond 7,500 yards from the back tees.

The course is open to public play and is managed by Troon, with five sets of tees offering flexibility for golfers of varying abilities. It includes a driving range, pitching and putting greens, and Oskee's Sports Pub inside the clubhouse.
