Hunting Hawk Golf Club

Glen Allen, VA

Hunting Hawk Golf Club is set beside the Chickahominy River in Hanover County, Virginia, near Glen Allen. Architect Bill Love routed the course through gently rolling, wooded terrain with wetlands, ponds, and streams, aiming to keep the design compatible with the natural site rather than reshaping it heavily. The 18-hole course plays to a par of 72 at about 6,882 yards from the back tees, with generous landing areas, strategically placed bunkers, and undulating greens that vary in size depending on the hole. Hunting Hawk is a public course with a full-service clubhouse, pro shop, grill, and practice facilities including a grass driving range, chipping green, and putting green.

Briarwood Golf Club

York, PA

Briarwood Golf Club is a 36-hole facility in a rural setting in the rolling hills of south central Pennsylvania, near York. The original course, now known as the East course, was built by the Leatherman family, starting with Bill and Ken Leatherman, who began construction in 1960 on land that had been a turkey farm. The East course opened for play in July 1963, named for briar trees found on the property; nearly all the fairway trees were hand planted. A second nine, the West course, opened in 1990, and a five-hole short course, the Final Five, was designed by Bill Love in 1992. The facility includes a clubhouse, pro shop and practice areas, and remains open to the public.
