About this course
Wilderness Club in Eureka, Montana, opened in 2009 in the Tobacco Valley near the Canadian border, about 10 miles from British Columbia. Nick Faldo designed it with Brian Curley on a 545-acre property of Rocky Mountain woodland, wetland and open meadow.
The course plays to a par 72 at just over 7,200 yards and moves between distinctly different settings, with holes cut through stands of pine and larch, others running along wetland and open ground with mountain views in every direction. Fairways are generous, the bunkering is large-scale, and the greens are big enough to handle the elevation and wind.
The setting is remote, the season is short, and the course is quiet even in summer, which is part of the appeal. It is a resort course with lodging on site and open to public play.
