Whitefish Lake Golf Club's South Course is an 18-hole public layout in Whitefish, Montana, with golf on the site dating back to the 1920s. The original nine holes were completed with WPA funding in the 1930s, on land that doubled as an emergency aircraft landing site. Architect John Steidel shaped the North course in the early 1980s and returned about a decade later to renovate the Mountain nine and add a new loop, creating the South course, which opened around 1994. The club plays to a par of 72 with a rating near 71.6.
