About this course

The Arnold Palmer Course at Turtle Bay Resort occupies the North Shore of Oahu in Kahuku, Hawaii, adjacent to the Ritz-Carlton property. Designed by Arnold Palmer with Ed Seay and opened in 1992, the par-72 course stretches to roughly 7,200 yards from the black tees across five sets of tees. Its front nine plays in a Scottish links style along open, wind-exposed ground, while the back nine turns tropical as it winds through the Punahoolapa marsh, a roughly 100-acre wetland bird sanctuary. Water comes into play on fourteen holes, and more than sixty bunkers add to the challenge. Though public, the course sits on resort grounds and offers preferred booking windows and rates to Ritz-Carlton guests, with other Oahu visitors and Hawaii residents able to reserve tee times further out. A golf shop, practice range and putting green support both resort guests and outside players.

Kahuku Golf Course is a public nine-hole links style facility with a par of 35 located in Kahuku, Hawaii. The course was built in 1937 and sits on the northeastern shore of the island of Oahu. Kahuku offers a seaside environment where golfers play over a terrain featuring Bermuda grass fairways and greens. The layout includes 11 to 20 bunkers but does not have water hazards. Because it lacks a pro shop and restaurant, the course maintains a leisurely atmosphere where players bring their own supplies. Royal Kunia Golf Club

Waipahu, HI · 20 mi away

Royal Kunia Country Club sits above the Ewa Plain in Waipahu, Hawaii, on the island of Oahu, on land that was formerly sugar cane fields. The course was designed by Robin Nelson and was largely completed in the early 1990s, though a lengthy legal dispute over development fees delayed its public opening until 2003. The layout rolls across the plain with views stretching from Pearl Harbor to Diamond Head, and it uses the site's contours along with several lakes and numerous bunkers. It plays to a par of 72 across 18 holes, measuring about 7,007 yards from the black tees. Royal Kunia operates as a public course with cart-based play, a pro shop and a restaurant on site, and it remains open for daily tee times.
