About this course

The Pearl at Kalauao is an 18-hole public course in 'Aiea, Hawai'i, overlooking Pearl Harbor on the island of Oahu. Formerly known as Pearl Country Club, it was established in 1967 and was long associated with the Pearl Open, drawing players from Japan and the United States. The par-72 course measures about 6,787 yards and was designed by Japanese architect Akira Sato, with holes separated by mature trees along the lower slopes of the Ko'olau Range. Ownership transferred to Kamehameha Schools in 2020, and the greens were renovated with Seashore Paspalum grass in 2023. The facility includes a restaurant, a short three-hole pitch-and-putt course called Na Momi 'Ekolu, and event space for weddings and gatherings. It remains open to public play with reservations recommended on weekends.

Royal Kunia Golf Club

Waipahu, HI · 5.9 mi away

Royal Kunia Country Club sits above the Ewa Plain in Waipahu, Hawaii, on the island of Oahu, on land that was formerly sugar cane fields. The course was designed by Robin Nelson and was largely completed in the early 1990s, though a lengthy legal dispute over development fees delayed its public opening until 2003. The layout rolls across the plain with views stretching from Pearl Harbor to Diamond Head, and it uses the site's contours along with several lakes and numerous bunkers. It plays to a par of 72 across 18 holes, measuring about 7,007 yards from the black tees. Royal Kunia operates as a public course with cart-based play, a pro shop and a restaurant on site, and it remains open for daily tee times.

Ewa Beach Golf Club

Ewa Beach, HI · 6.2 mi away

Ewa Beach Golf Club sits at the far end of the Ewa Plain on Oahu, about 40 minutes from Waikiki. Robin Nelson designed it and it opened in 1992 as the first course in Hawaii planted with seashore paspalum, which keeps it green in one of the driest parts of the island. The front nine is cut through a kiawe forest and punishes crooked drives, and the first tee sits beside a reconstructed ancient Hawaiian village site. It plays to par 72 and is open to the public.
