About this course
Tierra Verde Golf Club is a city-owned course in south Arlington, Texas, built on roughly 250 acres of formerly secluded terrain next to the Martin Luther King Jr. Sports Complex. It opened in 1998 and was the first golf course in Texas, and the first municipal course anywhere, certified as an Audubon Signature Sanctuary, reflecting an emphasis on native grasses, constructed ponds and wildlife habitat during construction.
The layout offers five sets of tees per hole, sculpted fairways, sand bunkers and numerous water features, with roadrunners, hawks and herons commonly seen around the property. As a municipal course operated by the City of Arlington, it is open to the public, and its practice facilities include a lighted range, a short practice course and a large chipping and putting complex.

Meadowbrook Golf Course is a City of Fort Worth municipal course on the city's east side, originally opened in 1924 as the nine-hole Meadowbrook Country Club. Fort Worth purchased the property in 1938 and it has operated as a public course ever since. The layout was renovated by architect Ralph Plummer in the early 1960s, and after marking its 100th anniversary in 2024 the course closed for a full, multi-year renovation. Colligan Golf Design rerouted nearly every hole and rebuilt the greens with hybrid Bermuda turf. The rebuilt course reopened to public play in October 2025. Because the routing changed substantially in this renovation, current hole-by-hole yardage and par were not independently confirmed at the time of this writing.
