About this course
Tianna Country Club is located about two miles south of Walker, Minnesota, in the lake country of the north-central part of the state near the Chippewa National Forest. The course traces its origins to 1922, when the original nine holes were built in about forty days.
John Andrus purchased the club in 1929 and renamed it Tianna. Golf professional Sammy Balfore reshaped the course layout in 1930, and in 1967 golf professional Ernie Tardiff designed and built a second nine, completing the current 18 holes; ownership of the two nines was consolidated between the club and the city of Walker over subsequent decades.
It is open to the public, with a pro shop, practice area and clubhouse dining.

Deacons Lodge Golf Course
Breezy Point, MN · 23 mi away
Deacon's Lodge is an Arnold Palmer design at Breezy Point Resort in the Brainerd Lakes area of Minnesota. It opened in 1999 and is named for Palmer's father, Milfred "Deacon" Palmer. The course is routed across 500 acres of forest, wetland and lake shoreline. Palmer used the natural contours of the land rather than heavy earthmoving, so fairways bend around stands of pine and hardwood and greens sit close to the water in places. Bentgrass covers the tees, fairways and greens, and the back nine carries the harder holes on the card. From the back tees the course plays 6,964 yards at par 72, with a course rating of 73.8 and a slope of 128. Deacon's Lodge is part of Breezy Point Resort and is open to resort guests and outside play through the pro shop.
