Tianna Country Club is located about two miles south of Walker, Minnesota, in the lake country of the north-central part of the state near the Chippewa National Forest. The course traces its origins to 1922, when the original nine holes were built in about forty days. John Andrus purchased the club in 1929 and renamed it Tianna. Golf professional Sammy Balfore reshaped the course layout in 1930, and in 1967 golf professional Ernie Tardiff designed and built a second nine, completing the current 18 holes; ownership of the two nines was consolidated between the club and the city of Walker over subsequent decades. It is open to the public, with a pro shop, practice area and clubhouse dining.
