About this course
The Cascades Course sits in the mountains at The Omni Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, Virginia. William Flynn designed it and it opened in 1923, on ground that falls steeply through a narrow valley. Very little of the course plays level: the routing follows Cascades Creek up and back down the hollow, so uphill, downhill and sidehill lies are constant, and the small greens sit on natural benches. Sam Snead began his professional golf career at The Homestead in the 1930s, near this course. Play is open to resort guests and, at set times, to the public.
