About this course
Pelican Point Golf Club is set behind the historic Houmas House Plantation in Gonzales, Louisiana, along the Mississippi River corridor south of Baton Rouge, on land that was formerly a sugar cane farm. Developer Douglas Diez opened the Links course in 1998, with design work credited to Ferris Land Design, blending a British links look with Louisiana scenery and roughly 30 acres of lakes. A second nine, the Lakes course, followed in 2002.
The Links layout offers generous fairways, large greens and several tee options, with a par-5 16th playing to an island green among its more notable holes. The club operates as a semi-private facility surrounded by residential development, offering members and outside guests access to golf, a restaurant and other amenities.
