Old Toccoa Farm Golf Course

About this course
Old Toccoa Farm Golf Course, in Mineral Bluff, was designed by the Bunker Hill team of Dan Proctor, Dave Axland and Jack Dredla in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia. The routing drops nearly 300 feet from its highest to lowest point and runs alongside the Toccoa River, letting gravity shape much of the shot-making. Mountain laurel, rock outcroppings and wildflower meadows border the fairways rather than housing. The course sits within a mountain residential community and is open for daily-fee public play.

Brasstown Valley Resort Golf Course
Young Harris, GA · 29 mi away
The golf course at Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa sits in Young Harris, Georgia, in the Blue Ridge Mountains near the state's highest peak, Brasstown Bald. Designed by architect Denis Griffiths, the Scottish links-style course opened along with the resort in 1995 on land that had previously been an ancient Cherokee village site. Griffiths routed the course to take advantage of the existing terrain, with rolling hills, bentgrass greens, and water coming into play on ten of the eighteen holes as the layout winds through wildlife preserves, ponds, and streams. The design uses only a small fraction of the resort's wooded acreage, and the course has been noted as one of the more environmentally sensitive properties of its kind in the country. Brasstown Valley operates as a resort course open to hotel guests and the public through the resort's golf packages, with tee times bookable directly through the resort alongside overnight stays.
Chatuge Shores Golf Course
Hayesville, NC · 31 mi away
Chatuge Shores Golf Course sits beside Lake Chatuge in Hayesville, in the far western North Carolina mountains. Eric Townsend designed the 18-hole course, which opened in 1972 and measures 6,498 yards from the back tees. Greens are bentgrass and fairways are Bermuda. It takes daily-fee play and has a driving range, putting green and pro shop.

Nob North Golf Course
Cohutta, GA · 34 mi away
Nob North Golf Course sits in the rolling hills of Whitfield County, Georgia, a Gary Player design that opened as a public daily-fee layout. The 18-hole routing threads through hardwood-lined fairways with several ponds and creeks in play, most notably on the short par-5 first, where a lake waits for tee shots leaked too far left. Player set the course up to reward positioning over raw distance, with reachable par 5s, a drivable short par 4 on the second, and a compact par 3 fifth that guards one of the trickiest greens on the property. The front and back nines move across gentle elevation changes, and bunkering frames the landing areas rather than dominating them. Tiered greens appear throughout, including a three-tiered surface on the third and a two-tiered green on the fourth, so the wrong level leaves a long, breaking putt. Water is a steady presence, with creeks bordering par 4s and ponds protecting approaches, and the par-3 fifth demands a precise short iron to a tight pin. Nob North operates as a public course with daily tee times, annual passholder options, and tournament hosting. The facility offers online tee-time booking, a mobile app, membership packages, and a pro shop, with hours running from early morning into the evening across the week. The course is walkable in feel, with carts available, and the routing returns conveniently to the clubhouse. Whitfield County's tree cover and hillside setting give Nob North a quiet, leafy character, and the design keeps it playable for casual golfers while still challenging lower handicaps from the black tees. It is a public-access course with no membership required to book a round.
