Odyssey Golf Course in Tinley Park was built on farmland between 1989 and 1991, designed by Harry Bower with input from Curtis Strange. Water comes into play on twelve holes, and the 16th has an island green. Since 2013 it has been run by the nonprofit Odyssey Golf Foundation, which supports local veterans.
