TPC Las Colinas (Nelson Course)
Irving, TX · 3.3 mi away
TPC Las Colinas is the tournament course at the resort in Irving, designed by Jay Morrish with input from Byron Nelson and Ben Crenshaw and opened in 1982. It winds through wooded, gently rolling parkland along a creek corridor in the Dallas suburbs, playing to a par of 70 at 7,166 yards. The course was the permanent home of the PGA Tour's Byron Nelson from 1983 through 2017, the longest single-venue run of any event in the tour's modern era. Weibring-Wolfard Golf Design carried out a renovation during that tenure. Tree-lined corridors and water make it a shotmaker's course rather than a wide resort layout.
Stevens Park Golf Course
Dallas, TX · 8.1 mi away
Stevens Park opened in 1924 as Dallas's second city course. Jack Burke Sr. laid out the original nine, and it later grew to 18. It sits in Oak Cliff between the Kessler Park and Stevens Park Estates neighborhoods, just west of downtown. Colligan Golf Design rebuilt every hole in 2011. The work changed the routing, made it a par 70, added 38 bunkers and new Bermuda greens, and planted hundreds of trees and rosebushes. A creek and hilly ground give it more shape than most Dallas golf. It is a city course open to everyone, and neighbors still raise money each year to help care for it.
Bear Creek
Dallas, TX · 9.1 mi away
Bear Creek Golf Club sits near DFW International Airport in Dallas, Texas, and offers two 18-hole layouts, the East and West courses, both designed by Ted Robinson. The courses wind through mature oak groves with water features worked into the natural terrain, and Bermuda fairways lead to greens guarded by bunkers. The club is open to the public for tee times and has hosted PGA Tour qualifying rounds, the Texas State Open and AJGA events. Facilities include a golf shop, practice areas, a restaurant and an outdoor dining area called The Backyard. The course is open seven days a week from sunrise to sunset, closed on Christmas Day.
