About this course
Heathland is the links-inspired member of the three-course Legends Golf Resort complex in Myrtle Beach. Tom Doak designed the par-71 layout as an American interpretation of golf in the British Isles, using broad, mostly treeless corridors, exposed wind, deep bunkers and rough tight to the fairways to create the challenge. The open ground gives golfers room to choose lines, but the best angle into each green often depends on avoiding the course's strategically placed hazards.
Highlanders Double Eagle Tavern is the main-clubhouse stop for Heathland, Moorland and Parkland, serving breakfast and lunch with a full bar and televisions. The separate Ailsa Pub is a Scottish-inspired evening gathering place in the resort's Turnberry Park neighborhood, giving golf groups another place to continue the day after the clubhouse closes.

The Wizard Golf Links
Conway, SC · 3.0 mi away
The Wizard Golf Links is a Dan Maples design in Conway, opened in 1996 as part of the Mystical Golf trio alongside The Witch and Man O' War. Maples moved more than a million cubic feet of earth to sculpt a windswept, links-style landscape meant to recall Scotland, complete with sod-walled pot bunkers. The par-71 layout plays to about 6,721 yards with bentgrass greens, rare for the area, and closes with back-to-back island greens at the 17th and 18th.
Myrtle Beach National (West)
Myrtle Beach, SC · 3.9 mi away
The West Course is the middle of the three Arnold Palmer designs at Myrtle Beach National, opened in 1974, a year after King's North and a year before SouthCreek. The par-72 layout winds through a forest of stately pines with numerous doglegs, fairway bunkers and natural hazards, and it plays as a genuine test from the back tees while staying friendly from the regular tees. Palmer returned in 1996 to give the West a facelift along with its sister courses, and the greens were converted to MiniVerde in 2011.
Myrtle Beach National (South Creek)
Myrtle Beach, SC · 4.0 mi away
SouthCreek is the shortest of the three Arnold Palmer-designed courses at Myrtle Beach National, opened in 1975. The par-72 layout measures just over 6,400 yards and winds through hardwood forest and Lowcountry wetlands, with dogleg fairways, expansive waste bunkers and slick MiniVerde greens that put the emphasis on accurate approach shots rather than length off the tee. Golf Digest awarded it four stars in its Places to Play guide.
