About this course
The Plantation Course at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg is an Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay design. It shares a clubhouse and practice area with the resort's River Course, but plays very differently.
The fairways are generous and the card is short, around 6,400 yards at par 72. The real test is on the greens, which are large, tiered and heavily sloped. Many holes are lined by trees and homes, and a couple of par 3s play across deep ravines.
Resort guests and the public can book tee times, and it costs less to play than the River Course.

Golden Horseshoe Golf Club (Green)
Williamsburg, VA · 2.5 mi away
The Green Course at Golden Horseshoe Golf Club is part of Colonial Williamsburg's resort property in Williamsburg, Virginia, carved from about 250 acres of mature woodland with ridges and ravines running through the property. Rees Jones designed the course, which opened in 1991, drawing on the routing style his father Robert Trent Jones Sr. used on the resort's older Gold Course. The 18-hole layout plays to a par of 72 and stretches to about 7,120 yards from the championship tees, with water coming into play on six holes and more than 100 bunkers throughout. Six sets of tees allow a range of playing abilities to use the course. The Green Course operates as part of the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club resort facility, open to resort guests and the public by tee time, alongside the Gold Course and a nine-hole par-3 course called The Shoe.
Golden Horseshoe Golf Club (Gold)
Williamsburg, VA · 3.4 mi away
The Gold Course at Golden Horseshoe Golf Club in Williamsburg, Virginia opened in September 1963 and was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. Operated by Colonial Williamsburg, the par-71 layout measures 6,817 yards from the back tees and includes seven holes with water hazards, highlighted by the par-3 16th, which plays to an island green with no fairway. The longest hole, the par-5 15th, stretches 634 yards from the tips. Rees Jones later renovated the course, adding modern turf and improved bunker drainage while keeping Trent Jones's original routing and green complexes.
Golden Horseshoe Golf Club (Spotswood)
Williamsburg, VA · 3.4 mi away
The Spotswood Course is a nine-hole layout in Williamsburg, Virginia, built to serve guests of the Williamsburg Inn. Fred Findlay designed the original nine, which opened in 1949, and Robert Trent Jones Sr. carried out a renovation in 1964 in connection with the creation of the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club. The short course plays to a par of 31 across tree-lined, gently contoured ground typical of the surrounding Colonial Williamsburg property. It is managed as part of the Golden Horseshoe golf complex, which also includes the Gold and Green courses, and functions as a resort amenity available to guests and the public through the resort's golf operation.
