About this course
Historic City Park Golf Course is the oldest public course in Baton Rouge and one of the oldest in the South. Tom Bendelow designed the course in 1926, and it opened for play in 1928.
The nine holes play on gentle park ground shaded by mature trees, an easy walk in the middle of the city. The layout has changed little in character across nearly a century of play.
The course is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, one of the few golf courses in the country with that recognition. It approaches its centennial as a living piece of Baton Rouge history.
