About this course
Harry L. Jones Sr. Golf Course is a public, county-owned course in southwest Charlotte, North Carolina, near Charlotte Douglas International Airport. It opened in 1987 as a reclamation project built over the closed York Road landfill, designed by architect Michael Hurdzan, and was renamed in 2017 in honor of a former county manager.
The 18-hole layout has Bermuda grass from tee to green and four sets of tees to accommodate a range of playing abilities. Amenities include a three-hole practice course, a large driving range, and a covered second-floor deck overlooking the course.
Operated by Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation, the course is open daily to the public from dawn to dusk, with tee times bookable online or by phone, and a snack shop serving food on site.
