About this course
Bartley Cavanaugh Golf Course sits along the Sacramento River in the Freeport area of Sacramento, California, and is the newest of the city's municipal golf courses. Architect Perry Dye designed the course, which opened in 1995 on a 96-acre site and is named for a former Sacramento city manager.
The layout has a links-like character, with rolling, mounded terrain and moderately sized, undulating greens. It measures about 6,200 yards from the tips, with out-of-bounds along several fairways and water in play on seven of the 18 holes. The course is open to the public, with a pro shop and tee times bookable online or by phone.

Bing Maloney's Championship 18 is a public course in south Sacramento, California, designed by M.J. McDonaugh, an associate of Alister MacKenzie. The par-72 layout runs under mature oak trees that shape doglegs and approach angles on several holes, including a par 5 that runs alongside a former municipal airport. It is a traditional course without gimmick holes, though sloping greens demand a solid short game. The facility uses dynamic pricing for tee times, which can be booked online up to two weeks ahead or by phone through the pro shop, and it includes a Toptracer-equipped driving range.
