Nemacolin Woodlands - Shepherd's Rock

Farmington, PA

Shepherd's Rock is the second Pete Dye course at Nemacolin in Farmington, Pennsylvania, built with Tim Liddy and opened in 2017. It occupies higher, more wooded Laurel Highlands ground than Mystic Rock across the resort. The course is routed over ridges and through hardwood, with rock ledges left in place and holes falling sharply from tee to fairway. Dye's bunkering and bulkheading appear throughout, and the greens are quick with steep surrounds that punish long-side misses. It plays as a par 72 at over 7,200 yards and is open to resort guests and public play.

The Trophy Club

Lebanon, IN

The Trophy Club is an 18-hole course located on US Highway 52 in Lebanon, Indiana, set on 247 acres with Prairie Creek running through the rolling property. The layout was designed by Tim Liddy and offers a links-style feel, with wide bentgrass fairways, large USGA-specification bentgrass greens, and taller bluegrass and fescue framing each hole. Strategic bunkering and a mix of dogleg and split-fairway holes give the course variety across its length. The course is open to public play with tee times bookable online or by phone. Practice facilities include a full driving range, short-game area, and putting green, and the clubhouse features a grill open to golfers and the public. The season generally runs from March through early December.

Sultan's Run Golf Club

Jasper, IN

Sultan's Run Golf Club is on the north side of Jasper in southern Indiana, about 24 miles from French Lick Resort, which it is affiliated with. Tim Liddy designed the course, which opened in 1992. It is named for Supreme Sultan, a champion saddlebred horse owned by Alvin Ruxer, who donated the land, and each hole is named for one of his horses. The course moves over rolling, wooded ground with zoysia fairways and bentgrass greens, and water is in play on all four par 3s. The 18th is the one people remember, a 429-yard par 4 that bends right to a green set below the clubhouse and a large waterfall. It plays 6,859 yards at par 72 from the black tees with a 140 slope. Sultan's Run is open to the public and was named Indiana Golf Course of the Year in 2015.
