Roger Rulewich

Bernardston, MA

Crumpin-Fox Club in Bernardston, Massachusetts was conceived in 1969 by David Berleson, who hired architect Roger Rulewich to design a course on rugged terrain in north-central Massachusetts. Rulewich built the front nine and reworked the back nine in phases, and the course opened to bentgrass fairways in 1990. The layout climbs and falls through wooded hills, guarded by more than 60 bunkers and water on several holes, with slightly elevated, moderately undulating greens. From the black tees it plays 6,912 yards to a 74.1 rating and 136 slope. Crumpin-Fox operates as a public course with a restaurant, Zeke's Grill, at the clubhouse.

Hamburg, NJ

Ballyowen at Crystal Springs Resort in Hamburg, New Jersey, opened in 1998 and was designed by Roger Rulewich, who spent decades working for Robert Trent Jones Sr. The site was a sand and gravel operation before the course was built on it. Rulewich built a treeless, links-style layout with fescue rough, large sweeping bunkers and open sightlines across the whole property. Wind is the main defense, the fairways are wide, and the greens are large enough that a long approach can leave a very long putt. A bagpiper plays on the property during the season, and the course is open to public and resort play as part of the Crystal Springs group of courses.

Richmond, RI

Meadow Brook Golf Course is a public 18-hole course on Kingstown Road, with club and mapping sources placing the property in the Wyoming and Richmond area of southern Rhode Island near North Kingstown. Designed by architect Roy Rawlings and opened in 1934, the course was later reworked by designers Roger Rulewich and Dave Fleury into a par-72 layout stretching to roughly 7,400 yards, among the longest public courses in the state. Large, contoured greens, sculpted bunkers, and strategically placed water hazards define the modern layout. The course regularly hosts Rhode Island Golf Association qualifying events.

Myrtle Beach, SC

The Grande Dunes Resort Course, designed by Roger Rulewich, opened in 2000 along the Intracoastal Waterway in Myrtle Beach. The course features elevation changes and wide fairways. Towering pines and waterway views define its visual character. The par-3 14th plays along the Intracoastal, requiring a carry over water. The par-4 10th drops downhill to a green protected by bunkers and water. Grande Dunes is a championship-caliber course recognized by golf publications.

Saratoga Springs, NY

Hamburg, NJ

Wild Turkey is an 18-hole public golf course at Crystal Springs Resort in Hamburg, New Jersey, designed by Roger Rulewich and opened in 2001. It was the last of four 18-hole layouts built at the sprawling 90-hole Crystal Springs complex. The course combines the open, expansive character of Ballyowen with the multi-elevated terrain typical of the resort's other courses, set across basin-and-ridge topography. It plays to a par of 71 at over 7,200 yards from the championship tees.
