Meadowbrook Golf Course is a City of Fort Worth municipal course on the city's east side, originally opened in 1924 as the nine-hole Meadowbrook Country Club. Fort Worth purchased the property in 1938 and it has operated as a public course ever since. The layout was renovated by architect Ralph Plummer in the early 1960s, and after marking its 100th anniversary in 2024 the course closed for a full, multi-year renovation. Colligan Golf Design rerouted nearly every hole and rebuilt the greens with hybrid Bermuda turf. The rebuilt course reopened to public play in October 2025. Because the routing changed substantially in this renovation, current hole-by-hole yardage and par were not independently confirmed at the time of this writing.

Houston, TX

Hermann Park Golf Course is a municipal course in Houston, Texas, located in Hermann Park near the Texas Medical Center, Museum District and Rice University. Built in 1922, it is one of Houston's oldest golf courses and was the first course in the country to be integrated. The course underwent a renovation in 1999 and retains its historic clubhouse, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is open to the public seven days a week and is managed as one of several city-affiliated golf facilities in Houston, with tee times bookable directly through the course.

Kerrville, TX

Scott Schreiner Golf Course, historically known as the Schreiner Municipal Golf Course, opened in 1924 as the Kerrville Country Club in the Texas Hill Country. The City of Kerrville acquired the property in 1934, making it the first and only municipal golf course in Kerr County, and later renamed it in honor of Scott Schreiner for his role in establishing the club. The course has operated continuously for a century, hosting the annual Heart of the Hills Golf Tournament for decades and, in 2024, celebrating its centennial. A renovation project addressing greens, bunkers and drainage was completed in 2025, the first major overhaul since 1999. As the only public golf course in Kerr County, it offers daily tee times, cart rentals, a driving range and a pro shop, remaining an accessible option for local and visiting golfers.

Killeen, TX

Stonetree Golf Course is an 18-hole, par 72 municipal course in Killeen, Texas, that was built by Jay Riviere in 1970 and renovated in 2005 by Lee Singletary. The layout covers rolling terrain with a wide variety of trees and small lakes featuring fountains. The front nine is generally considered more difficult than the back nine, requiring patience from golfers. The course spans 7,153 yards from the back tees and offers five sets of tees for different skill levels.
