Davis Love III

Hilton Head Island, SC

Atlantic Dunes occupies the site of the Ocean Course, the first golf course built on Hilton Head Island, inside the Sea Pines Resort. Davis Love III led a complete reconstruction and the course reopened under its current name in 2016. The rebuild leaned into Lowcountry character, with coquina shell bunkering and seaside grasses framing holes that move between maritime forest and open coastal ground. The par-3 15th, played along the water, is its most photographed hole. At roughly 7,000 yards from the back tees, it modernized the shot values while keeping the sense of the island's oldest golf ground.

North Myrtle Beach, SC

The Love Course is one of four courses at Barefoot Resort in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, designed by Davis Love III and opened in 2000. It plays to a par of 72 over roughly 7,047 yards from the back tees, with generous fairways and wide landing areas that put more emphasis on approach play than on driving accuracy. The design draws on Lowcountry themes, most visibly in the replicated ruins of an antebellum plantation house that frame holes four through seven. Green complexes are sculpted with contours and run-off areas reminiscent of Pinehurst No. 2, requiring a varied short game. As a resort course, the Love Course is available to resort guests and the public through stay-and-play packages alongside its three sister layouts by Greg Norman, Tom Fazio and Pete Dye.

Gautier, MS

Shell Landing Golf Club is a public, 18-hole golf course in Gautier, Mississippi, designed by Davis Love III and opened in 2000. The par-72 layout is carved through pine woodlands along marshland on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, offering a secluded setting despite its accessible location near Pascagoula and Biloxi. The course includes The Landing restaurant and hosts outings and events alongside daily public play.

Sea Island, GA

The Retreat Course is part of Sea Island Golf Club in Sea Island, Georgia, on the Georgia coast near St. Simons Island. It is set apart from the resort's other two courses, Seaside and Plantation, and is surrounded by longleaf pines and native oaks. The course was redesigned in 2001 by Sea Island touring professional Davis Love III along with his brother Mark Love, who widened fairways and added length to open up the playing character of the layout. The par 72 routing includes a mix of par fives, fours, and threes across its eighteen holes. Retreat is available to resort guests and members, with forecaddies optional rather than required. Reservations are handled through the resort's golf department, and rates vary seasonally.

Spring Lake, NC

Anderson Creek Golf Club is a public course in Spring Lake, near Fort Liberty. The par-72 layout plays to about 7,000 yards over rolling, wooded terrain, a full-length test that serves the Fayetteville area and the military community.

New Hill, NC

The Preserve at Jordan Lake is a public course in New Hill, southwest of Raleigh, a Davis Love III design. The par-72 layout plays through the pines near Jordan Lake, a scenic and well-conditioned course for the southwest Triangle.

Columbia, SC

Oak Hills Golf Club is an 18-hole public daily-fee course on a 160-acre tract in the Columbia, South Carolina Midlands.
