Boalsburg, PA

Mountain View Country Club is a semi-private course in Boalsburg, Pennsylvania, a few minutes from Penn State University. It was built in 1963 and designed by architect Lowell Erdman, operating for decades as the State College Elks Country Club before new ownership took over in 2012 and renovated the golf course and clubhouse. The par 71 layout runs about 6,278 yards from the back tees with rye fairways and bent and poa annua greens, set among rolling hills with views of Tussey Mountain. Walking is allowed, and the facility offers a driving range along with power carts. The course has drawn attention from regional golfers for its conditioning and value, hosting tournaments and outings throughout the season. A restaurant and event space are located on site, and lodging is available nearby through an on-property hotel partnership.
