A public golf facility in Madison, in Lake County northeast of Cleveland, with two courses. Owner Fred Slagle designed and built the main Thunder Course himself, opening it in 1976 on land that was once a fish hatchery, and it was renovated in 1998. Water is everywhere: dozens of ponds dot the property and many tee shots must carry it. From the back tees the par-72 layout stretches to 7,504 yards with a slope of 152, one of the toughest tests in northern Ohio. The property also has Little Thunder, an 18-hole executive course Slagle added in 2007 that plays to a par of 67 at about 3,160 yards.
