Craryville, NY

Copake Country Club is an 18-hole golf course in Craryville, New York, in Columbia County, situated near Copake Lake in the foothills between the Berkshires and the Catskills. The course sits on hilly ground reached by a rise past the lake, giving several holes elevated views of the surrounding countryside. The course was designed by Devereux Emmet, an American architect who laid out more than 150 courses in the early twentieth century, in an era when wood-shafted clubs were standard. The layout retains the character typical of Emmet's classic-era work. The club is open to public play and includes a pro shop and an on-site restaurant, The Greens at Copake, which operates with its own dining hours separate from the golf operation. It is a seasonal, warm-weather facility typical of the Hudson Valley and Berkshires region.
